Baton Rouge Area Youth Rugby has partnered with Louisiana rugby, Major Lee Rugby Nola gold and Imagine Rugby to bring us to the world stage, rugby. Flag rugby is a great introduction to the sport of rugby, as it allows children to learn the basic skills and rules of the game in a safe and non-contact environment. It’s also a great way to stay active and healthy during the summer months, and provides an opportunity for kids to make new friends and build valuable teamwork and communication skills. Rugby has a strong and growing following in the United States, and by introducing children to the sport at a young age, Baton Rouge Area Youth Rugby will be on a strong competitive playing field!
2024 winter coed flag rugby season registration is now open for ages 6-14.
Youth will engage in a fast-paced and empowering game of rugby that will not only develop the skills of running, kicking, passing, and spacial recognition, but youth will be better leaders on and off the field through communication and teamwork.
WHAT TO EXPECT

Experience a morning of engaging and empowering play where girls and boys play both offense and defense- EVERYONE runs, kicks, passes and scores!
Featuring: Major League Rugby NOLA Gold, Baton Rouge Men and Women’s Club, and LSU Rugby
with special speed development with D1 Training Baton Rouge Coach Will and self confidence session with Louisiana Department of Health Outreach Supervisor Theodore Davis.

In addition, each youth will need to register $25.99 with USA Rugby (Rugby Xplorer) to compete in the tournaments. The registration is good for one rugby calendar year (Jan-Dec).
Travel expenses not included. Overnight accommodations are available for away games, but are not required. To keep expenses low, youth are encouraged to support local fundraising efforts (TBA). Sponsorship opportunities are available (Registration fees reflect sponsor support)
