BATON ROUGE WINTER YOUTH RUGBY CLINIC

REGISTRATION OPEN: WINTER YOUTH RUGBY CLINIC: “Having a Ball”

DECEMBER 1, 2018

The second annual Winter Youth Rugby Clinic: “Let’s Have a Ball” will be at the official Baton Rouge Rugby Club Pitch: BREC Highland Road Park. This first fall season of Rookie Rugby united over 30 participants ranging from 5 to 17 year olds, girls and boys from the Baton Rouge Area and surrounding parishes.

If you’re new to rugby, a game consists of 2 teams, 15 players with the object of the team scoring across the opponent’s score line or kicking the ball through the goalposts on a soccer-sized field. Each player plays offense and defense by running, passing, kicking and catching the ball. If you can play hot potato and duck-duck-goose, you’ll love this upgraded version! Experience is not required or expected!

This one day FREE clinic sponsored by Baton Rouge Rugby Football Club, Baton Rouge Youth Rugby Club Warriors, BREC and Louisiana Rugby is not only an introduction to rugby fundamentals, but participants will have an opportunity to specialize in skills of ball-handling, kicking and fitness to build Communication, Teamwork, and Leadership on and off the field.

Onsite registration (pre-registration is highly recommended)/check-in begins at 8am, the clinic will begin at 9am. The rugby clinic will end at noon and like all rugby gatherings, there will be food and comradery! See you at the pitch!

Deadline is Nov. 20, 2018
